Valerie Marchand Welsh
Valerie joined The Baldwin School after serving as Associate Dean in the office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania for over a decade. Valerie served on the Admissions Leadership Board at Penn and had a leadership role in recruitment, operations and communications. Valerie's work in admissions extended to working closely with undergraduate students, university faculty, guidance counselors, parents and alumni. Before Penn, Valerie worked as a Resident Director at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, overseeing advising and support services for students and as a liaison with families. Prior to working in higher education, Valerie worked in international finance in Washington, D.C. She has lived in Washington, D.C., Boston, Philadelphia and London.
Valerie worked with hundreds of undergraduates and became a trusted and valued mentor and advisor to students. She brings to Baldwin students her tremendous experience and a strong desire to make the college process "personal, warm, and inspiring."
