Beyond Baldwin

Externships

    • high school girls private education
In May, Seniors have an uninterrupted four weeks to leave the Baldwin gates to experience compelling, individual programs. Past examples have included working in a scientific lab, at a non-profit organization, for the ACLU, for Main Line Animal Rescue and Philadelphia Young Playwrights. The students return the week of Commencement and share their experiences with their fellow classmates and faculty and staff.

Service

    • all girls service projects private education
Upper School students meaningfully engage in local and global communities to effect positive change, which fosters a sense of social responsibility by encouraging involvement inside and outside of school.
Service in the Upper School is student-driven, supported and coordinated by our Upper School Service League.

The Upper School Service League also oversees Baldwin’s service-oriented clubs: We partner with The Haverford School & The Agnes Irwin School Service Boards to serve:
  • More Than Me
  • Girls Learn International
  • Cradles to Crayons
  • Interact and more
  • Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Tutoring
  • Empty Bowls
  • Starfish Project for Children

Travel

    • all girls school high school travel
Baldwin students welcome the opportunity to expand their learning experiences by traveling in the U.S. and abroad. As part of the Grade 9 curriculum, the entire class embarks on an experiential learning trip selected for its relevance to the grade’s various courses of study.

Additionally, Baldwin girls have opportunities to perform in venues in Europe, work at an orphanage in Tanzania and experience a full cultural and academic exchange in Denmark and France where they have the added benefit of living with a host family.
