After an extensive national search, Baldwin is delighted to announce that Dr. Saburah Posner will be appointed as the Middle School Director at Baldwin beginning July 1, 2025.
Dr. Posner is an accomplished educational leader with a wealth of experience in school administration, curriculum development and student life. She spent a decade at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and held multiple leadership roles, including acting Head of the Middle School for Girls, Dean of Student Life and math educator. She guided faculty in student-centered support during her tenure, restructured the middle school admissions processes and led strategic initiatives to strengthen student resilience and well-being. Her leadership also extended to heading the eSCHift Program, building student-focused module programs, coordinating student orientation and integrating co-curricular programs into the advisory system.
Most recently, Dr. Posner has served as the Assistant Head of Lower School at The Shipley School, where she has played a pivotal role in faculty hiring and evaluation, student support and school-wide initiatives. Her leadership extends to leading faculty professional growth and development, developing student-centered programming, onboarding new teachers and expanding parent engagement events. Throughout her career, Dr. Posner has demonstrated a commitment to fostering meaningful relationships, promoting student well-being and creating dynamic, inclusive learning environments that empower students and educators alike. She has thoughtfully evaluated curriculum and programming with an informed perspective on trends in teaching, learning and best practices in girls' education.
Throughout the interview process, Dr. Posner continually demonstrated a deep understanding of Baldwin's mission and a strong commitment to the importance of the traditions and nuances of the Baldwin experience. She recognized middle school girls' unique academic, social and developmental needs and has a keen understanding of how best to support them in their academic, social and emotional growth. Dr. Posner also emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with faculty, students and parents, viewing parents as essential partners in their children's education. She listens attentively to their perspectives and fosters an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and knows she belongs. Her colleagues describe her leadership style as transparent, communicative and collaborative with all constituents — qualities that will enhance Baldwin’s Middle School and contribute to its continued growth and excellence.

Dr. Posner holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Education from Cabrini University and a Bachelor’s degree from Goucher College, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa honoree. She is a lifelong athlete and a celebrated former rugby player, having won two national championships while playing for the New York Rugby Club.
