Addison Lilholt Presents at International AI Conference in Portugal

Computer Science and Engineering Chair Addison Lilholt recently presented at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Research (ICAIR) in Lisbon, Portugal on his published research paper titled “Mapping Software-Engineering Industry AI Use to Software-Engineering Curriculum: Developing The AI-USE Framework." In this publication he and co-author, Dr. Thomas Heverin, developed the AI-USE Framework, a groundbreaking approach to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into software-engineering (SE) education. By identifying 10 essential AI-driven industry segments, the framework aims to align middle and high school curricula with real-world SE demands, preparing future software engineers to tackle the global talent shortfall. This initiative bridges the gap between education and industry, equipping students with the AI skills needed to thrive in the evolving tech landscape. After presenting, many fellow researchers wanted to learn more and plan to continue the conversation into the future.
