Alumna Gia Vicari '19 Signs Professional Soccer Contract in Australia

Gia Vicari '19, Baldwin's first ever soccer All-American and the program leader in goals scored and points, signed a professional contract with Australia’s Newcastle Jets for the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season. Gia, who plays as a forward, joins the Club from Denmark’s Odense Boldklub Q of the Kvinde-DM Liga. Gia played four years of soccer at Georgetown University (2019-22) and a fifth season at Rutgers University (2023).

 

Newcastle Jets Head Coach Ryan Campbell said, “I’m thrilled to be able to bring in a player of Gia’s quality to our squad. She has a strong eye for goal and has great experience playing abroad and will add to our attacking stocks. I’m looking forward to seeing her make an impact on this team. She possesses a range of attributes that match our style of play and is clinical in front of goal.”
