Baldwin’s Pre-K Students Team Up with Parents for Healthy Kids Unit
This week, Baldwin’s Pre-K students invited their families to join them in promoting regular habits, such as exercise, to be part of an everyday healthy lifestyle. In Baldwin’s Early Childhood Center, life skills and positive choices are often integrated with the regular instruction of ELA and Math.
In the current unit, "Healthy Kids," students have tracked and graphed their water intake, created obstacle courses and movement patterns, as well as practiced important sequencing skills for washing hands and brushing teeth. Students also wrote about their favorite nutritious foods. In addition, parents in our community who are medical professionals have visited the classroom to discuss how regular check-ups help us all stay healthy from germs.
