Middle School Participates in Service Day

Students in the Middle School recently participated in a service day that utilized some of Baldwin’s Core Values: Respect, Compassion and Learning. Focusing specifically on food and clothing insecurity, Service League members helped to organize their peers in a food and clothing drive that created donations to four locations. The students cooked meals at MANNA and desserts at Howie’s House. They packed boxes and organized food at SHARE, Wayne Food Pantry, Patrician Society and Haverford Food Pantry. Other sites included Cradles to Crayons, Mitzvah Circle, Our Closet and one onsite location where they created ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls event scheduled for April 21.  

 

When the students returned to campus, they had onsite mini projects that included individualized plants for Bethesda Project, hygiene bags for Jeremiah Project and the Rescue Mission, notes of hope for Project Home and placemats for Cathedral Kitchen. Students and faculty all contributed to a successful day and a meaningful experience.
